Vattenfall is a large supplier with a wide choice of contracts and an extensive app. According to the electricity label, the electricity for private customers in 2025 came entirely from Dutch renewable sources. The supplier is not automatically the cheapest. Households with solar panels in particular should carefully compare Vattenfall's rates and feed-in charges.

Mijn Vattenfall: log in and manage things yourself
Via Mijn Vattenfall you can view your contract, personal Vattenfall rates, invoices and annual statement. You can also adjust your instalment amount and payment date, enter meter readings and report a move. You use the same account for Mijn Vattenfall, the Vooruit benefits programme and the Energie-app.
Do you have a smart meter? Then the Vattenfall Energie-app shows your consumption and costs up to and including the previous day. You can view data per year, month, day and hour and compare it with previous periods. If you have solar panels, you can also see how much electricity you have fed back into the grid.
Can't log in to Mijn Vattenfall? First check the email address of your account and request a new password if necessary. According to Vattenfall, the account is blocked for fifteen minutes after five failed login attempts. Clearing cookies or logging in via a one-time link may also help.
Vattenfall gift and current offers
If you are looking for a Vattenfall gift, you will still come across many old promotions with televisions, tablets and gift vouchers. Those offers have expired. Since 1 January 2026, under the new Energy Act, energy suppliers may no longer link a physical product, voucher or gift card to an energy contract. A discount or bonus in the form of a cash amount is still permitted. In practice, the current Vattenfall gift is therefore a financial discount. The offer at the top of this page is updated automatically. Check in the promotion terms whether the discount applies only to new customers, when it is paid out and what happens if you end the contract early.
Benefit for existing customers
Existing customers can take part in Vooruit. You receive points every month that you can use for discounts, energy-saving products or sustainability measures.
In addition, there is Blijven Loont. Under the product terms, this can raise the discount to as much as 25%, but only on the variable supply costs of the electricity actually consumed. The discount does not apply to gas, fixed supply charges, taxes or system operator charges. You must also take electricity and gas, or electricity and district heating, from Vattenfall.
Sustainability at Vattenfall
According to the electricity label for 2025, the electricity for consumers and SME customers consisted entirely of renewable electricity from the Netherlands. The mix consisted of 71,8% wind energy, 27,4% solar energy and 0,8% hydropower. The electricity product Groen uit Nederland consists almost entirely of Dutch wind energy, with also 9,1% Dutch solar energy. According to Vattenfall, TijdPrijs, the model contract and the dynamic electricity product use the same electricity label.
All Vattenfall rates today
Vattenfall rates depend on your address, energy consumption, contract type, solar panels and the channel through which you apply. So don't compare only the rate per kWh of electricity or m³ of gas. The total annual amount is determined by the supply rates, fixed supply charges, energy tax, system operator charges and any Vattenfall feed-in charges. Deduct any discount from that.
According to Vattenfall's current product overview, you can choose from different contract types:

For a dynamic contract you need a smart meter. You must give Vattenfall and the system operator permission to process quarter-hourly readings for electricity and hourly readings for gas. Vattenfall also offers the combination of dynamic electricity and a fixed gas price.
A fixed rate protects you against rising supply rates, but during the term you do not benefit from a falling market price. With dynamic and variable Vattenfall rates, you notice market developments more quickly. A dynamic contract is especially interesting if you have, for example, an electric car, a home battery or another flexible electricity user.

Feeding back with solar panels
Since 1 July 2024, Vattenfall has charged fixed feed-in charges to customers who feed more than 500 kWh per year back into the electricity grid. Up to and including 2026, your total, actually measured feed-in determines which charge scale you fall into. So it concerns all the electricity you supply to the grid, not just the surplus left over after net metering.
Vattenfall feed-in charges are settled in the annual or final bill. In Mijn Vattenfall and your contract confirmation you will find an estimate and the table that applies to your contract. If you feed back a maximum of 500 kWh, you pay, according to the current explanation from Vattenfall no fixed feed-in charges.
An older fixed contract that started before the charges were introduced may still be exempt until the end of its term. For new fixed and variable contracts, the current scales apply. So always check the terms of the contract you actually take out.
With the dynamic contract, Vattenfall currently charges no fixed feed-in charges. You do, however, receive or pay the market price for the hour in which you feed back. Vattenfall may also introduce or adjust a selling fee per kWh. During hours with a negative electricity price, feeding back can therefore cost money.
The net metering scheme ends on 1 January 2027. From that date, Vattenfall charges, according to the conditions for solar panels from 2027 an amount per kWh on all electricity fed back. This is offset by a feed-in compensation. With a multi-year contract, the rates from 2027 onwards may already be set out in the contract confirmation.

The switch scored an 8,2 there and customer service an 8,1. In the Gaslicht.com Award 2026, Vattenfall finished in second place with a score of 8,9. This rating uses, among other things, verified reviews from switchers and a survey seven months after the application.
On Trustpilot, on the same reference date, Vattenfall stood at 3,4 out of 5, based on 2.810 reviews. Positive Vattenfall experiences often concern the app, clear consumption overviews and helpful staff. Critical reviews mention unclear instalment amounts, unexpected bills, feed-in charges and problems reaching the company.

Our verdict on Vattenfall
Vattenfall is especially interesting if you want plenty of choice between contract types and want to manage your energy matters digitally. The Dutch electricity label, the app and the option to take out a fixed, variable, dynamic or time-of-use contract are strong points. However, the supplier is not necessarily the most advantageous. Solar panel owners in particular should compare the Vattenfall feed-in charges. Also look critically at the terms of a discount and don't let yourself be guided solely by the amount in the offers block.

14-day cooling-off period
There is a statutory cooling-off period of fourteen days. During this period you can change your mind and cancel the contract with Vattenfall free of charge. After that, this is only possible under the normal cancellation conditions.
