This is how we earn our money

Free for you, paid by suppliers
Comparing, calculating with your own consumption, the contract alarm and all the explanations on this site cost nothing. To be able to pay for that, we work with affiliate networks, the intermediaries with which energy suppliers place their switching campaigns. If you click on a deal and then take out a contract, the network reports that switch to us and the supplier pays a fixed amount per contract concluded. For energy, that amount is usually between a few tens of euros and about a hundred euros per switch.
So we only earn if you actually switch. We earn nothing from reading a page, from a click without a contract or from entering your consumption.
There is no mark-up in your price. The rates, the welcome discount and the terms and conditions you see at the supplier are identical to what you see if you go to the supplier without our site. A supplier is not allowed by the network to show a different offer to visitors who come via us.
What fees do and do not influence
Does: whether there is a button with a fee under a deal. With suppliers we have a partnership with, the button goes via a measurable link, so that the network can attribute the switch to us.
Does not: which deals we show. We put all deals from all Dutch suppliers on the site, including from suppliers who pay us nothing. If there is no fee involved, we say so with that deal.
Does not: the order. The order in our overviews follows from the annual amount at your consumption, the terms and conditions and the customer ratings, not from the size of a fee. A supplier cannot buy a higher position.
Does not: the prices and the figures. We retrieve the rates, feed-in fees, feed-in charges and hourly prices from the suppliers and the energy exchange ourselves, daily. We do not adjust those figures for a supplier.
Does not: our texts and judgements. The editorial team writes the explanations, the comparisons and the critical comments without a supplier reading along or approving. We also show the reviews as they are, including the critical ones.
How we keep it fair
- Every outgoing button to a supplier is a link on our own domain that counts how often it is clicked. This way we see per page what happens, without storing anything about you as a person: no IP address, no name, only a counter.
- For deals without a fee for us, this is stated. They are simply there, in the same place as the rest.
- The sharpest deal is at the top, even if another supplier would pay us more. If that is not right somewhere, we would like to hear about it.
- We do not accept paid articles, sponsored placements or advertisements from suppliers on this site.
- During periods in which we deliberately do not want to receive a fee, the buttons send you directly to the supplier. For you, nothing changes then.
Check it yourself
Do you want to be sure that you get the same via us as directly? Open the deal via our button and open the same deal in another window directly on the supplier's site. Compare the annual amount, the welcome discount and the term. In doing so, look at the personal annual amount at your consumption and not just at the discount, as ACM ConsuWijzer also advises. If you see a difference, let us know, then we will look into it and adjust the page.
Frequently asked questions about our business model
Do I pay more if I switch via EnergieAanbieding.nl?
No. The supplier pays the fee from its own marketing budget. The offer, the price and the terms and conditions are the same as what you get directly from the supplier.
Do you only show suppliers who pay?
No. We show all deals from all Dutch energy suppliers. For deals without a fee for us, this is stated.
Does the fee determine the order?
No. The order follows from the annual amount at your consumption, the terms and conditions and the customer ratings. A supplier cannot buy a higher position.
What do you store if I click on a deal?
Only a counter per supplier and per button. No IP address, no name and no email address. For the contract alarm we keep your email address and the month in which your contract ends, and only for that purpose.
How much do you earn per switch?
That differs per supplier and per campaign. For energy contracts it is usually between a few tens of euros and about a hundred euros per contract concluded.
